The Department of Veterans Affairs is the second largest U.S. federal agency with a diverse workforce of more than 300,000. VA is also one of the world’s largest health care systems, serving more than six million Veterans each year spread over nearly 900 medical facilities.

By far, one of the biggest challenges in VA is communicating about new programs to its massive audience. In 2013, the highly anticipated VA Mobile program began testing, evaluating and deploying mobile applications in an effort to transform health care delivery for our nation’s Veterans.

This session will provide you with useful ideas on how your communications team can develop both traditional and non-traditional strategies and tactics to push the communications needle forward, including how to:

  • Use innovative techniques to gain agency buy-in among leaders and  employees across the country
  • Implement effective strategies and best practices for building agency-wide interest
  • Utilize alternative methods for gaining traction for your new program
  • Incorporate both traditional and non-traditional communications channels into an overall communications plan
